Time’s Up! Party – Guessing and Charades

This complete French-language edition is for 4–12 players aged 12+, with a playing time of around 40 minutes. Its 220 cards provide 440 subjects, including personalities, works, places and other things to guess.

Form teams of at least two players. Choose the yellow or blue side of the cards and prepare a deck of 40. Players read their cards privately and can replace unfamiliar or overly difficult subjects before the deck is shuffled. On each turn, the sand timer gives the clue-giver 30 seconds.

Use spoken clues without saying the answer or a related form of the word. Your teammates can make several guesses. Each correct answer lets you move to another card. Listen closely: the explanations become shared references for the next rounds.

Shuffle the same cards. Give only one word per card; only your team’s first answer counts. A small detail remembered from round one can now make the difference.

Use the same deck again, without speaking. Gestures, sound effects and humming are allowed. Add up the cards won across all three rounds to find the winning team.

The changing rounds offer different ways to contribute: describing, remembering or acting. For a first session, take time to read the cards, mix generations within teams and listen to your opponents’ clues too. Choose a different selection of subjects for your next game. The included bag helps keep the playing materials together when taking them to a gathering.
